Mining industryHere is my nomination for winner of best web site of a product-supplier to the mining industry. I announce this nomination, because you may enjoy a walk through the site, and maybe because you seek a site to emulate for your own cluttered affair. I refer to the Dywidag-Systems International site. Before I go further, let me assure you I have no commercial relation with the company.  I have never spoken to them—and have no plans to do so. I write here about them because I am impressed by their site.

The link I provide above takes you to the DSI Links page.  Here are magnificent color pieces each providing a link to one of their many country-specific sites. I recommend approaching this site as you would an art gallery. Click on each in turn and just admire the art work—or at least the consummate skill of the graphic artists who created these images. In my unhumble opinion, they are worthy of framing. I wish I could get my hands on some large versions.

Take a tour through their case histories at this link. They are masterpieces: perfect examples of what a case history or project description should be. They tell of the project, of the people, and the use of their product in fast, readable prose.

If you want product information, go to this link. Many downloadable brochures with details and illustrations enough for the most demanding. But note that if you navigate your way to the South African or any other country-specific part of the site, you can get brochures tailored to the products sold in that country. It amazing how they do it. A good case study in web site design.

It is seldom I get excited about a web site. I look at many and most leave me with ennui and horror. Too many leave me confused and too often totally baffeled about what the company does. I could list more examples than this page would hold, so I do not. To repeat, this accolade is my personal first-take based solely on an enjoyable amble around the site. I would like to hear your opinion.
