You must pay attention when the news item starts thus: “Using life cycle assessment (LCA) methodology, Australia’s natural science agency CSIRO has established that water used by the mining industry reaps more economic benefit than water consumed by agriculture and industry.”

Chatting to a young Canadian geologist, I asked him what he was working on. His reply: “Like all the guys in this office, I am a Qualified Person putting out reports in terms of National Instrument 43-101.”

“Is it difficult to become a Qualified Person ?” I asked.

“No way,” he replied, “all you have to do is have the right degree and some relevant experience and that is it.”

“So what exactly do you do?” was my next question.

Suponhamos que você esteja em casa . 

Olhe ao seu redor.

Vamos lá, a fundação, as paredes utilizaram cimento, proveniente principalmente do calcário e um pouco de argila.

Na janela, temos vidro feito de quartzo, no piso do chão, poderemos ter desde ardósia, marmoré, granito ou cerâmica.

Na pintura da sua casa, desde caulim, calcário até pigmentos de titânio.  

É verdade, olhando com atenção, eles estão em todos os lugares.

Aproveitemos estes bens da natureza com sabedoria, eles são muito utéis para a Humanidade !
