Here are some hints about improving quality at your mine. These ideas come from Kay Sever who consults to the mining industry on quality programs. She lists these things that go wrong in typical mining operations:
1) Employees budget “what management wants to see” instead of what is achievable.
2) Engineers are afraid to reveal errors in long-range planning models.

Sitting with me at my computer is Marcelo Ribeiro Villela, graduated in Mining Engineering, from Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais, in Brasil. He is here in Vancouver to become familiar with the ins and outs of InfoMine so that he can do the same in Brasil for the mining industry. He is one of two in the Nova Lima office and he intends to expand it. My hope is that he will soon overtake us English writers by generatign the definitive text in Portuguese on mining technology. Meanwhile if you can help him out by submitting your materials relevant to Brasil in Portuguese or English, here is his e-mail address: mvillela@infomine.com
I invest in mining stocks. I believe in them and the industry. Do you? Are you a typical mining investor? Here is a word-picture of a non-typical mining investor I knew and liked.
A brief tribute to the most ardent commenter on this new Blog. She has left no public trail of comments but has sent me topic-specific e-mails through conventional channels. I refer to Michele Murry whose photo and creations you can see at http://www.alloneriverartworks.com/
